Open days at horse farms in Skagafjordur 28. Jun – 4. July

In the week 28. Jun to 4. July some horse-breeding farms in Skagafjordur will have open days. Visitors will get the opportunity to meet the horse farmers at home and see some of theirs horses.

Open days are between 13:00 to 17:00 at:

• Ytra-Skörðugil Thursday 1. July
• Vatnsleysa Friday 2. July
• Miðsitja Friday 2. and Sunday 4. July
• Syðra-Skörðugil Saturday and Sunday 3. and 4. July
• Hjaltastaðir Sunday 4. July (The leather handcraft studio will be open all week)

The Saturday 3. July at Vindheimamelar
Breeding show (second assessment) – shows from horse breeding farms – stallion presentation – BBQ and fun.

At Saturday evening, Hótel Varmahlíð will offer buffet and entertainment, especially for horse people. All accommodation at the Hotel will be at discount price. On Hotel Varmahlíð is ongoing photo exhibit from the Historical Centre for the Icelandic Horse and the Skagafjordur Municipal Archives.

The swimming pool in Varmahlíð will be open until 24:00 at Saturday evening.
At Miðgarður in Varmahlíð will be a dance with live music.
