Gry and Hrynjandi

Drama and excitement at the tölt finals in the Nordic Championship

12 Aug 2010 - 11:20

There was a double Norwegian victory both in the class of young adults and adult class in the tölt competition at the Nordic Championship.
Oda Ugland and Hárekur became the Nordic champions in the young adults class but close behind was another Norwegian couple, Elisa Lundhaug and Hvinur frá Holtsmúla. Skúli Þór Jóhannsson and Þór frá Ketu were in third place competing for Iceland. In adults class there were dramatic changes during the finals. Dorte Rassmusen from Denmark was in the lead until the fast tölt event, where her horse lost a show, thereby it was Denni Hauksson who was in the lead. But with great speed and power the Finish born stallion Hrynjandi frá Fageräng and his rider Gry Hagelund ended as winners after having worked their way from B-finals earlier. Undoubtedly, it is Gry and Hrynjandi who are the couple of this tournament with their performance both in tölt and four gaits.
