Landsmót atmosphere in Þjóðólfshagi

27 Mar 2010 - 13:15

“There are horses here in all different stages, young and promising as well as older and more experienced horses” says Sigurður Sigurðarson in Þjóðólfshagi when asked about the horses in his stable.

“I am aiming for the breeding show, the gæðinga competition, tölt and racing at the Landsmót, Vindheimamelar. I would like to mention Drífa frá Hafsteinsstöðum, Freyðir from the same farm and Spá frá Skíðbakka 1. Kjarnorka frá Kálfholti is ready to go and will probably be competing in the B-class and tölt. Blæja frá Lýtingsstöðum, daughter of Djákni is a promising four gaited mare, as well as the daughter of Þorri, Hera frá Stakkhamri“. Sigurður says that the A-class is still undecided, but possibly he will bring a powerful secret weapon to that event. “This will become clearer by springtime“.

“As far as breeding horses concern, I have a few promising four year old mares that will be decided on as time passes. These mares are for example out of Akkur frá Brautarholti, Eldjárn frá Tjaldhólum, Þóroddur frá Þóroddsstöðum and other good stallions” says Sigurður Sigurðarson. Clearly, Landsmót atmosphere has arrived in Þjóðólfshagi.
